  • Dental Marketing Seminars : Making Use of the Internet

In my dental marketing seminars, I remind my audience that to be successful in their dental marketing business, they should not forget to make use of the Internet. I always give them this scenario in my dental marketing seminars: “Today, more and more people are using the Internet in their daily activities. They shop through e-bay rather than go to the malls, log on to social networking sites rather than meeting people in person, listen to music on-line rather than using the traditional radio,etc. With these facts in mind, the Internet itself can be considered as a good media to promote your dental marketing business”. Sharing this scenario to my audience in my dental marketing seminars would be very helpful for them to visualize the power of the Internet as it will be used in their dental marketing business. So, just how exactly does going on-line become a good strategy for the business? In this article I will show you the four factors supporting this fact.

 

1st Factor: More And More People Are Logging On To The Internet

 

More and more people are using going on-line in their daily activities. Growing numbers of people are searching on-line compared to any other media for their service providers; to get chat in social media directories, to get directions to places they want to go, to get in touch with friends through social networking sites, and much more. In my dental marketing seminars, I tell the audience to build their websites in a way that it would increase the traffic of your daily visitors. These visitors could be your potential patients.

 

2nd Factor: The Power Of Good Keywords

 

In my dental marketing seminars, I encourage the audience to come up with good keywords, for it can help you become successful in your dental marketing business. Make use of specific keywords (like dental, marketing, or any appropriate ones). This, if done correctly, can help you literally dominate your are in the Internet, and overcome your on-line competitors!

 

3rd Factor: Every Visit Counts

 

Always remember that it’s always free to get new patients through the Internet! The idea here is that the more visitors you have on your site, the higher the ranking of your page is. And if your page ranks higher than any other pages in the search engine, then you can get people to find your own website without paying the search engines (google, yahoo,etc.) for every click of the button. This will make your page more famous than any other page there is in your niche. So what I always tell my listeners in my dental marketing seminars is: every visit counts!

 

4th Factor: Getting The Best Of Both Worlds On-line

 

In my dental marketing seminars, I tell the audience that if they want to get free,natural traffic and get paid traffic as well, then they can enjoy the best of both worlds on-line. The key here is that when someone searches of the keywords “Your Town Cosmetic Dentist”, you would want to be the one that is displayed all over the search engines. The visitors will be able to see you in every corner of the page. You would always want all doors to lead to you!

 

I would always encourage my audience in my dental marketing seminars to make use of the Internet in their business, supported by these four factors. It will not only give you more and more new patients, it will also give you more income as well in your business. The more patients you have, the more rewarding it would be for you!

I am a marketing Director for a really small firm in a rural community. I would like to leave my current job and find a higher paying one in my small community. What options do I have? I have heard pharmaceutical sales and dental supply sales to name a few.

I understand Hillary is interviewing for personnel for her campaign for the presidency. Of course, you’d have to be willing to travel! And, it would probably be a "temporary position," but who knows? don’t be afraid to change your life!

That is also what we offer their own personalized web site,never mind the amount of potential new patients.All this for a dollar a day.But I can not seem to get their attention.They are always busy

Robert most dentists still work with the old stand by, the phone book. Internet may reach more people, but not necessarily in their local vicinity. Dentists that use the Internet usually like to customize their own website.

Because I am going to study the course and I need chairside experience is it relatively easy to get a job in Dental Nursing and how is the UK job market are they craving for people like teacher and nurses and electricians or they are not in need of people? How is the job market? if anyone can help will be nice and appreciated by me.

  • Good foods for cats with dental problems?

My vet just diagnosed my cat with the early stages of dental disease. In addition to getting his teeth professionally cleaned, I have been brushing them daily and also using a dental rinse. He currently eats Nutro Adult food, but I am considering switching him to a food that is designed for cats with dental problems (i.e. Royal Canin Oral Sensitivity, Royal Canin Vet Diet Dental DD, etc.) Does anyone have any experience with these brands or any others? Do you think they make a difference, or is this just a marketing technique? Any help would be much appreciated :-)

wet food is a bad idea if you are trying to clean teeth. dry food keeps teeth more clean because of the friction caused by the kibble.
my vet office sells hill’s prescription t/d which is a good food in general, but the main difference is the size of the kibble. the bigger the kiddle, the more the teeth will have to go through it, and therefore will creat cleaner teeth.
you dont need to get a prescription diet food, so dont go out and buy t/d. just find a food with bigger kibble and that should suffice. a good professional cleaning and teeth brushing will help alot so you are on the right track. good luck!

  • I’ll b graduating from dental school next yr what is the employment 4 women like n Italy and Spain?

I’ve often admired both places and my becoming a dentist I often hope to visit and perhaps live in a different country. Spain and Italy are both dear to me and I really want to get an idea of the employment market for female dentist. That way I can make one of them my place of residence.

Look I am Italian and a medical student.

You really don’t want to move to Italy! Italy is VERY different from how it is romanticized in movies and such, especially when it comes to the business side of it.

Once you are a dentist, can you wait for 10 days to get phone line and electricity hooked up? Can you waste time personally going to the postal office every time something goes wrong? Can you afford not to work for 3-4 days every time something breaks in your practice? Can you afford working from 8-9 in the morning to 8 pm because the staff and the culture *demands* you to take a 3 hr break for lunch? Can you put up with patients constantly asking you for a discount, not showing up on time, not wanting to pay for your expertise?

If you can do all of this, then Italy offers lots of employment, and it doesn’t really matter what gender you are, although there are folks who prefer to go to male doctors "just because".

  • which agent is the best for cleaning the dental clinic?

because we have so many solutions in the market. all of them claims they’re the best but i wanna be sure which agents are really helpful and prevents diseases so that patients that go to the dental clinic will be assured that they will not be cross-contaminated with other patient who have disease like STD or HIV… we don’t want to spread that disease…

If you are in the Dental profession, there are many things you can order through your dental supplier but most of us use Lysol spray (which kills 99.9% of all germs) and a pretreated wipe made specifically for use in the dental operatories or medical profession. Cross contamination is something to really be concerned with, but a good spray and then wiping down is quickest, easiest and most effective. As for instruments, hand pieces and burs, ultrasonic solution and autoclave is still the recommended method of sterilization when used according to manufactures instructions, and monitoring of equipment. Some wrap the whole operatory from the floor up with plastic, but most of us believe this is expensive and ineffective. Too many times it’s not changed and it harbors germs in the folds and creases of the plastic which then is passed upon contact with patients and the staff. It’s time consuming to re-wrap everything without contaminating something in the process of wrapping. The use of plastic on the dental chair, light handles and other items that are touched frequently are still advisable. The seams and controls on the dental chair can harbor germs, and the lights handles are almost always touched with contaminated gloves. It’s just not always handy to use a 2×2 or cotton pliers to grab or move things when you are in a hurry with a patient and the lobby is full, which make these a necessity to keep covered. Some items most frequently missed or over looked are the dentist, hygienist and assistant chairs, the X ray head and switch, the pens/pencils used, and computer keyboard, and let’s not forget door knobs. The list goes on and on. It would be in your best interest to follow office protocol, or do your own research into the different products and methods to find just what is right for your office. An STD being passed in a dental office is unlikely and HIV doesn’t live on surfaces. But HIV and AID’s patients need special care so that they aren’t contaminated with unnecessary germs that could deplete their already compromised immune system. I hope I’ve been of some help, although I’ve just scratched the surface. Hopefully I’ve given you some ideas to ponder over and discuss with your co workers for possible solutions if your office is in need of help in this area. There are also OSHA classes available which give continued education credit if you are interested. Just let your Doctor know you would like to attend the next one, he will appreciate your interest and desire in learning and implementing new techniques to increase the care of his patients. What is a typical day like being a DH, including number of hours and days in a typical week? Pros and cons? Job market under a normal economy? Any info would be appreciated!

Why don’t you job shadow a DH for a day? This will give you the best idea of a typical day. Some only work 3 or 4 days a week and it is considered ‘full time’. This website can give you a little more info: http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos097.htm

Be aware that DH programs are highly competitive and intense, you have to be fully committed to stick with it or you’ll give up.
