  • Build Your Internet Home Business Using Article Marketing
    posted by Kris Nickerson

As a new home based business owner who has just got started on the internet you will now need to promote your business in order to succeed as without promotion, nobody is going to know that your business exists and failure will surely follow.

Below are some good ideas and tips to get started with your internet home business.

To begin with you could pay for advertisements or you could get the same attention through article marketing and this is free. Below are some tips that you can use for article marketing.

1. The title of your article needs to be compelling as this is what will attract people to your business. This will get people curious and wanting to know more about the article just by reading the title. It is also helpful if you use keywords, so that anyone searching on the internet for those words will find your article. You can also mention the benefits they will derive from reading your article.

2. Organize your article into either point or bullet form. This is a very important point to keep in mind. Instead of writing your article paragraph by paragraph, make use of numbers or bullets to stress any major points. When done in this way the reading experience is more enjoyable and makes it easier to remember.

3. Your article needs to be informative in order to leave a lasting impression on the reader. You can achieve this by using simple words instead of large ones which will not understood by the average reader. For example, imagine that you had been to see a doctor who told you that you had a condition and he explained the whole thing using only medical terms. This may sound very serious and could be nothing more than a stomach ache.

4. After you have finished writing your article, read it all the way through and check that it is easy to understand, or preferably give it to someone else to proof read for you. Get their opinion and if they have any concerns regarding the article edit it, because although you may be an expert in this particular matter, it is possible that your readers are not and their main reason for reading your article is to learn more about what you have to offer.

Always check to see if there is anything else that you would like to add, as there are a variety of different ways of stressing a particular point, when the main purpose you are aiming at is to get people to visit your website.

Also don’t forget to add a link to your website. The best place to do this would be in the resource box. This is the bit that is added at the end of the article and here you can tell the reader a bit more about yourself and about your internet based home business.

You need to include a summary with each article as most directories require one. The majority of websites have this as a requirement. It only needs to be 3 to 5 sentences long and just needs to describe what your article is about and why they should read it. If you do not put some effort into this you may lose the opportunity to grab the reader’s interest.

Promoting your internet business through article marketing is an easy way to start building traffic to your website and this is what advertising is all about.

  • What is a good popcorn substitute for dental implant patients?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

My friend is banned from eating her favorite popcorn now after dental implant surgery. Is there a good alternative(s) that is safe and crunchy? Snack brands only, nothing cooked/fried!

Thanks–

Puffed rice can be a good option.

  • can you be awake for a colonoscopy?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

I’ve had a sigmoidoscopy without any sedation, and it was no big deal (and two 9 1/2 lb babies with no drugs and dental work w/o Novocaine…..I have a VERY high pain tolerance.) Is it really necessary to be knocked out for this? I don’t trust ANY Florida doctor’s and I’d like to see what they are doing in case I have to file a malpractice lawsuit.

You can be awake. It just gets uncomfortable when they fill your colon up with air. Many people cannot tolerate it, but if that’s what you want, then go for it.

  • I have am working towards a bachelors in business, and i want to go 2 Dental school do i need to switch to BS?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

I have been wanting to be a dentist for as long as I can remember. Before taking the just jumping in I worked as a D.A to see if I liked the work which I did. However somewhere I fell in to the world of design and fashion and have also been working for a BA in marketing. But now the dental bug is calling me back and I know I want to go in to dental school and eventually be an OS. I am just worried though that my all my hard work towards a BA in marketing is going to go to waste and I have to go back and get a BS in science. Should I worry, or is the fact I have worked in the industry going to help. I also have the reasoning that they do not teach business in dental school. What do you all think?

I think that if and when you become a dentist that your experience with marketing will be of great help. You should check out the prerequisites for a dental program. I know you should take calculus, physics and chemistry etc prior to taking the DAT (dental admissions test) as it makes up most of the content. It would make sense to be in a science program. GOOD LUCK

  • I would like to reprint a whole article in a book. How do I properly cite it to ensure there is no copyright?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

I have compiled a book of poetry and short stories by my great Uncle and now I am ready to print. The book will have a small regional following, probably a full circulation of no more than 500 copies. There have been several articles ,mostly in newspapers, written about him over the years and I would like to make part of a chapter the articles written about my Uncle. I have tried to contact the papers directly, but I have not received a response. Is there a way just to properly cite the material and bypass direct permission? My plan is to reuse the whole article.

Chances are that the articles will have copyrights, but if you have done everything possible to contact any possible rights holders including the newspapers and journalists, then you should be fine. You should also have documentation stating that you received no response, whether it be returned envelopes or even the letters you wrote them, just to be on the safe side.

As for citing the articles, on the copyright page of the book/manuscript(are you self publishing?) you should write up a disclaimer stating that you tried to contact the owners of the copyright to no avail. You should probably have your lawyer (or editor) draw something up.

Don’t be surprised if the right holders show up after the fact.

  • How do i search for a primary article for my Amylase enzyme lab report?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

Hi-i need to write a lab report for the enzyme, amylase reacting with Starch to form maltose. I am searching for a primary article for this lab report but i am a little confused. What kind of article should i use and how can i search to find a good article?

For this you will want to find some primary research, so the best place to look is your school or college library. They will probably have a periodical search engine where you can find the specific article you are looking for. You could try the American Chemical Society, or try looking online for some peer-reviewed journals and searching for your article that way…Good luck! Finding a good, reliable article is almost always the hardest part of the assignment!! :)
