  • New Assistant Vs. The intern?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

I’m an intern at a dental office (dental assistant) and this particular office is very fast paced and stressful, I’ve adapted quite well. I’ve been there a total of 9 days and I’m on my own, no one helps me do anything which is nice because I’m feeling very comfortable. On the other hand, there is a new hire, she’s a dental assistant as well, this is her first job. She’s trying to be in competition with me when I’m just there to learn and get some experience. She has melt downs everyday talking about how hard it is on your own when you have no one to help you, I also have no one to help me and I’m feeling ok about it, she’s been there for about 5 weeks when I’m at the start of my 3rd week. I’m working with a faster doctor, and I catch on to most things quickly. The problem is, this girl won’t get off my back, she is constantly complaining about how she feels like she’s going to get fired, she’s constantly negative about everything, she’s such a nice girl but today I told her in order to succeed in this office she needs to act confident regardless even if she’s not, patients and doctors notice when you don’t feel comfortable, and she snapped at me. How do I get her to stop counting on me to do her job and teach her when I’m learning myself?

Just straight up tell her. Tell her to back off and that she needs to work harder if she wants to succeed in this office. Tell her that in order to get ahead you have to be independent and that she can’t rely on you to help her through everything.
Hope This Helps!

You can’t really talk about successful marketing campaigns without also talking about return on investment. ROI is what you’re getting back from the money you’re investing in your advertising efforts. A lot of dentists I know have spent way too much money for newspaper advertising and space in the Yellow Pages. The problem is when someone is looking for a dentist, they don’t pick up the newspaper or the Yellow Pages anymore. They go to their computers and type in search words like “dentist your city”.Get in touch with us right away to find out how we can enhance your practice and bring you more new patients from the web.

  • Comparison of dental prostheses prices across EU countries?
    posted by Kris Nickerson

I am a student conducting a market research of dental prostheses / crowns in EU countries. As a part of this I am looking for a price comparison of these products across the European countries. Is there a place where I can find such a "price list" so to speak? Maybe a survey, forum, institute somewhere? I am mainly looking at UK, Netherlands, Sweden and Austria for this price comparison.

Thank you!

While I highly doubt that’d be accessible from a public source in another country, you must also take into account the "value" of the currency, which is always fluctuating, the market demand, and the credibility and legality of the places in question.

Good luck!
